The Money Pit

This web page details an effort to construct a working 1:9 scale model of the AAVP7A1.  The project is a money pit, but it will still be completed for less than scale cost.

The full-size vehicle is constructed entirely of aluminum.  The scale model has a fiberglass hull, aluminum tracks and suspension, and stainless steel water jets.  It is powered by four AstroFlight cobalt electric motors, and controlled with a 50Mhz Futaba six channel radio control system.

This site includes photos of the model under construction as well as full-size amphibian photos.  There is also an explanation of a few of the model building technologies that I have used.
